Meet Monica Bencomo, a full-time mompreneur and lifestyle fitness coach living in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Monica is a 30 year old mom of 2 lovely children, 19 month old daughter Ariel and 4 year old son Eliel. Her story is truly inspiring… what Monica has achieved is fantastic. You can read more about Monica’s story on her website which is at the end of this interview.

Did you exercise whilst pregnant and if so what did you do?
I focused on cardio (walking and jogging), lots of squats and compound movements.
I was 195 pounds when I gave birth.
How much weight did you gain whilst pregnant?
How much weight did you lose right after giving birth? (if you can remember!)
I don’t know. I don’t think it’s beneficial to obsess about weight. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t more than about 12 pounds.
How many weeks after giving birth did you start exercising?
I waited about a month after getting the go ahead form my midwife.
What sort of exercises did you start with and how often?
I started with the same, simple compound movements (squats, bicep curls, etc), and started slowly – a few times a week for about 10 minutes a day.
Have you reached your target body shape or are you still working on getting there?
I’m happy with my body. But I always think we are on a journey, so I’ll never feel like I’m “done”. 🙂
What keeps you motivated?
Life is short. Too short NOT to be the woman you want to be!
