On a scale of 1 to 10 how important is it that you workout and why? (10 being very important).
8. While I think working out is the best thing that you can do for your mind, body, and soul, I think it is okay to have days where you just relax and do nothing. I have been both obsessed and lazy so I understand how important it is to reach that healthy medium of not over-doing it.
Did you work out during your pregnancy? If not why not?
Yes I did! Almost every single day up until delivery day.
How much time do you dedicate to exercising each week?
5 days a week for 45 minutes.
What keeps you motivated when you’re tired or the little ones have worn you out?
Well if it weren’t my job, I would say for my mental health. It has really improved my anxiety and depression.
Do you follow a super clean diet or just eat sensibly?
I would say I follow a realistically clean diet. I like to indulge sometimes, but eat 80% clean. I love the 80/20 method of eating!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I wake up, feed my kids, and take one to daycare. I keep my youngest with me during the day. During her first nap, I workout since it is typically her longest nap. When she wakes up, we eat lunch and I play with her. Once my husband gets home a little after noon, I work on my business.
What do you find is your biggest struggle? Food, exercise, time, motivation?
Motivation because you need motivation in order to do all of it. It affects everything: your eating habits, workouts, and whether or not you want to find excuses in your schedule or time.
What is the best part of your day?
Spending family time!
Finally, if you could give one piece of advice to new mums or mums-to-be what would it be?
Take it all a day at a time. Figuring out your new routine will take some time, but it will work out! Promise.
Big thanks to Sia for helping to inspire and motivate other mums by giving us this interview!
